About the Peace Walk
The Festival of Faiths culminates with the annual Peace Walk, a public display of religious unity on Ault Park’s Great Lawn.
The Peace Walk is the culmination of the Cincinnati Festival of Faiths, an annual celebration of our community’s rich, religious diversity and a common desire for interfaith understanding, respect and cooperation. It is a multi-faith expression of unity and is spiritual and nonpolitical in nature. The Peace Walk emphasizes the oneness of the human family and our overriding desire for peace in our lives.
The Peace Walk encourages members of all faiths to come together as they walk the loop of Ault Park. Participants of all ages are welcome, and the event will be held rain or shine. Ice cream will be available for purchase along with coffee and beverages, and participants are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
A Prayer for Peace
(read together at the Peace Walk)
We are gathered here together in these beautiful, natural surroundings, we of religious faith, we of many faiths, and we of no religion, united in our longing for peace.
We wish, we pray for …
– peace in our hearts
– peace in our homes
– peace in our relations
– peace in our community, and
– peace around the world.
We seek an end to war, and violence, and hatred.
We seek the acceptance and forgiveness of others with whom we have differences, whether they be political, cultural, or otherwise.
We walk today as a commitment to the values of love, kindness, and compassion all of us share and are committed to.
We walk in the spirit of unity, togetherness, and community.
We walk for each other.
